The second chapter of Andoryss and Nesskain's Le Cercle draws you in with a quietly charged cover: two figures — a woman in a trench coat and a man in a dark jacket — stand close together on what appears to be a city rooftop at night, poring over an open book or document, a strange dark floral shape blooming ominously at their feet. Subtitled Réminiscence, this 2013 Delcourt release promises a story steeped in atmosphere and mystery, where the tension between knowledge and the unknown feels palpable even before you turn the first page.
