Un conducteur s'arrête pour prendre un autostoppeur, une calme nuit d'été, sur une autoroute. Le conducteur lui demande s'il n'a pas peur qu'on l'agresse en montant dans une voiture avec un étranger, l'autre répond qu'il sait se défendre. Le conducteur dégaine alors un revolver et lui commande de vider son sac. L'autostoppeur garde son sang-froid et, met un pied sur l'accélérateur, et attrape la main du bandit. La voiture dérape au détour d'un rond-point, et va s'écraser dans un arbre. L'autostoppeur en sort en transportant l'agresseur évanoui en attendant que quelqu'un les prenne... en stop !
