The second volume of this Franco-manga collaboration from Toru Terada and J.D. Morvan peers up at us through a tangle of pipes, cables, and scrap metal — a wide-eyed young girl emerging from the debris with an almost unsettling calm. Subtitled Real Favela, this 2008 Dargaud release signals a world built from scraps and survival, where small figures navigate enormous, indifferent machinery.
