Le Royaume #4

A burly, wide-grinned suitor drops to one knee beneath a leafy tree, presenting what appears to be a gnarled branch to a skeptical young woman in pink — the title Voulez-vous m'épouser ? ("Will you marry me?") says it all. Benoît Feroumont's warm, rounded artwork fills the scene with gentle humor, from the charmed little birds fluttering overhead to the heroine's thoroughly unimpressed expression. This 2012 Dupuis release looks like a thoroughly charming installment in Le Royaume's fairy-tale comedy.
