Li'l Tomboy and Li'l Genius set out to be extra good, determined to help a crying Li'l Buster who’s heartbroken over losing his money for a balloon. When a photographer refuses to let the boy hold a balloon, the twins hatch a clever plan to help him by organizing a publicity stunt that accidentally leads to a wild, balloon-filled rescue.

Li'l Genius and Li'l Tomboy spend an afternoon together while their mother shops, leading to a series of playful, escalating pranks and imaginative games. Li'l Genius tries to scare Li'l Tomboy with ghost and mummy antics, only to end up injured and bandaged, before they settle on pretending to be farmer and scarecrow—much to the surprise of Li'l Genius’s father, who appreciates the lawn transformation.

Li'l Genius and Li'l Tomboy mistake a large dog for a horse and set out to catch him, convinced they can return him to his owner and win a blue ribbon for the bald man who wants it for his head. Their chaotic chase leads them through a beauty parlor, a butcher shop, and an armory before finally bringing the dog to the dog show—where they’re not sure if they’ve done the right thing.
