She steals a bell from the jewelry store display, which creates a loud noise that attracts the store owner's attention, forcing her to flee with her prize.
Li'l Tomboy sets up a makeshift tourist lodge using old signs she borrowed, pretending to run a variety of services—from fortune telling to a "police station"—while her parents are away. When a pair of crooks arrive, mistaking her playful setup for a real operation, she quickly realizes her prank has gone too far. As her parents return unexpectedly, she scrambles to hide her antics before they discover the chaos she’s created.
Li'l Tomboy is convinced she’s built a house from junk, but her dad insists it’s a machine gun—prompting her to ask about his childhood. He recalls being a new kid who had to pass wild initiation tests to join a secret club, only to discover it was made up of girls pretending to be boys.
Li'l Tomboy is thrilled to have a new playmate, Hortense, and sets off with her doll and carriage, eager to share girlish fun. But when the pair heads to Point Farview, a mishap with the doll buggy leads to a crash—only to reveal that Hortense, like Li'l Tomboy, is just as fond of adventure as she is of dolls.
Eddie Extra agrees to watch little Bobby while Mrs. Brown shops, but the boy’s playful antics turn the errand into a wild ride through the neighborhood. From bouncing down hills to swinging through trees and tumbling into a hammock, the chaos unfolds with dizzying energy. Eddie barely keeps up, trying to stay calm as the day spirals into a series of bumpy, hilarious escapades.
Li'l Tomboy tests her uncle’s experimental treasure detector, which reacts wildly to everything from a jewelry store window to a fake engagement ring, leading her to dig up a root cellar full of potatoes. When the machine insists there’s treasure buried beneath her neighbor’s yard, she’s quickly shooed away—only to realize the device might not be working quite right.
