Li'l Tomboy asks her mother for a pussy cat, and when her mother suggests an over-grown water melon instead, the girl takes matters into her own hands. She visits a barber for her first haircut, then encounters a man who gives her a ride and attempts a haircut of his own with dangerous scissors. Escaping his attack, she flees through the woods where she befriends a giraffe and a hippopotamus, eventually parting ways with her new animal friends as she heads home.
