Lion #47 is an anthology featuring "Captain Condor: Space-Man of the Unknown Moon," in which Captain Condor and his crew explore an underground moon civilization and are captured by moon-men, leading to a chase through their strange city; "Gelda," a historical adventure set in ancient Rome where the gladiator Gelda pursues three escaped British prisoners and engages in a chariot chase; and "Jingo Jones and His Invisibiliser," a comedic tale by Tom Stirling about a boy who uses an invisible weight device to trick the local shopkeeper Old Gruntling into giving him sweets. The Case of the Fake Phone Call

Detective Brett Marlowe and his assistant Rusty Race are out for a country walk when they stumble onto a theft: a man's collection of gold coins has been stolen. Using a borrowed sledge to race down a snowy hill, Brett spots the culprit among the sledgers and gives chase across the treacherous landscape.
