Lion #51 is an anthology issue featuring five picture stories and additional features. "Captain Condor: Space-Man of the Unknown Moon" depicts the space pilot Captain Condor, outlawed for opposing the Zorian dictator, discovering fuel for his ship on an uncharted moon where he encounters the Armorats and agrees to help rid them of these creatures. A second story follows Cardoc and Granis as they attempt to rescue Cardoc's brother Edric from the tyrannical Gelda, with Cardoc making a desperate bid to beat Gelda's guards after discovering Edric has been captured. "Jingo Jones and His Invisibiliser" by Tom Stirling recounts how Jingo Jones uses an invisible snowball gadget to outwit his schoolmaster and sergeant. The issue also includes "Old-Time Train Travel Was Tough!", an illustrated feature describing the conditions and perils of early railway travel, including open carriages, lack of brakes, and conflicts between rival train companies.
