Lion #9 is an anthology comic containing multiple stories. "Outlaw of Space," by Frank S. Pepper, depicts Captain Condor and his men battling a giant hornet creature in a jungle cave while attempting to escape a perilous alien planet; after narrowly surviving the monster's attack, they manage to reach ground level via a drainpipe and successfully raid a nearby dynamite store. "Jingo Jones and His Invisibiliser," by Tom Stirling, follows a schoolboy footballer named Jingo who uses an invisibiliser device to trick opponents during a football match, ultimately transforming the "Bullies' Football into Foolball" through his clever deceptions. The issue also includes a "World-Wide Quiz" feature with geography and natural history questions for readers to answer.
