Seven years later Les and Lisa have a little girl, and Lisa is doing well, until a checkup reveals that her cancer has recurred. Determined to live for her daughter's sake, Lisa throws herself into the fight and is finally told she is in remission. Three months later, the doctors discover that they have made a mistake; Lisa now has only months to live. Deciding to live as normally as possible, she gives up treatment and steadily declines. Ten years after her death, their teenaged daughter joins Les in a national walk against cancer.
