No one at school wants to trade sandwiches with Sue Stringly, who never has anything good to eat since her father has been out of work. She claims that she has a secret boyfriend named "Parnell" who loves to eat her sandwiches. Little Archie follows her after school and discovers that Parnell is a stray cat that Sue is feeding. Little Archie has to decide whether to use the money he's saved up to buy new Silver Flash roller skates, or use it to help Sue and Parnell.
