When Little Eva’s doll, Josephine, goes missing, the girls suspect the local boys and devise a plan to trick them into revealing their prank. They stage a fake ransom note and wait to catch the culprits, only to discover the boys were behind the scheme all along — and the "kidnapping" was just another joke.

Little Joe, eager to prove himself as a reporter for the boys’ homemade newspaper, sets out to find a story but keeps stumbling into mishaps—missing a ship launch, a canceled wedding, and a broken-legged celebrity—until he gets lost and is rescued by a kind stranger. The story follows his bumbling attempts to gather news, each one thwarted by misfortune, as he struggles to deliver something worth printing.

In a playful twist on a classic candy-making adventure, Little Eva and her dog Nipper get carried away stretching a batch of taffy so far that it winds up snarling through the streets and tangled around passersby. As they try to stretch it across the road and even use it to "deliver" a message, their sticky experiment leads to a series of escalating mishaps — from a runaway truck to a TV-watching delay — all while the taffy grows longer, messier, and more impossible to manage.

Little Eva, convinced she’s suffering from the mysterious "Galloping Pollywoggles," enlists Dr. Rogers and her dog Nipper in a series of increasingly absurd medical antics after Aunt Amanda bans her from playing. As Eva’s antics escalate—from foam-spouting speeches to a fake illness—her family and friends react with exaggerated concern, turning her playful prank into a full-blown household comedy.
