When Little Grouchy and his mother visit the grand opening of a new supermarket, a chance encounter with the store's cat sets off a chain reaction of mayhem that spirals wildly out of control. As the feline tears through the aisles with escalating chaos, Little Grouchy finds himself at the center of the pandemonium—leading to visits from the fire department and some uncomfortable questions from the store manager. It's a hilarious romp through a 1950s supermarket that proves one curious kid and one hungry cat can turn a shopping trip upside down.

When Little Grouchy learns the butcher has no bones for his dog Whiskers, he hatches a scheme to make the butcher so angry he'll throw bones at him—but a museum field trip gives him an even better idea. After spotting dinosaur bones at the Museum of Natural History, Little Grouchy can't resist trying to snag one for his hungry pup, setting off a chaotic chain of events that leaves the museum in an uproar.

Little Grouchy and his friend Billy get a chemistry set and immediately hope to whip up candy, but when Little Grouchy's father steps in to show them real scientific know-how, things take a dangerous turn—literally. What starts as a lesson in mixing compounds becomes a cautionary tale about what happens when kids are left unsupervised with chemicals that don't belong in a home.

Little Grouchy's day at the circus turns into absolute mayhem when he sneaks away from his father's old friend Brady and decides to "help" with the various acts—starting with mistaking rehearsing midgets for playmates and escalating through an impromptu elephant joyride and a surprisingly friendly lion encounter. By the time his father Harold arrives to pick him up early, the entire circus has descended into chaos, and Brady is ready to pack up and leave town for good.

Little Grouchy overhears a radio report about accidents and conflicts around the world, prompting his father to reflect on how kindness and helping others could make the world better—and Little Grouchy decides to put that wisdom into practice right away. When his father heads to the kitchen to check on dinner, Little Grouchy sees an opportunity to demonstrate his newfound helpfulness, with characteristically humorous results.
