Lobo #41
In "Friends: The One with Tusks and a Big Weapon," Lobo and his unlikely companions spend a surprisingly mundane evening in a yuppie apartment, trading stories and spicy snacks before heading out on a hunt that’ll leave one man fatherless and another oddly attached to a monkey. Written by Alan Grant and brought to life with sharp, gritty art by Alex Horley (pencils and inks), this 1997 issue captures Lobo’s chaotic charm in a rare moment of quiet before the inevitable explosion. The cover by Alex Horley perfectly encapsulates the absurdity of the scene: a towering alien with tusks, a glass of hot sauce in hand, and a monkey perched on his shoulder.

Lobo and his pals invade a yuppie couple's apartment as they wait for their next bounty hunt to develop. They hang out, they drink hot sauce, they watch TV, they chit chat about inconsequential things (meaning Jonas tells his origin story) and then they head out for the kill where Jonas loses a father but gains a monkey.
