The second chapter of Rodolphe and Wens's atmospheric Franco-Belgian series arrives with Le carnet volé — "The Stolen Notebook" — promising a tale steeped in mystery and shadows. Wens's cover painting sets the mood beautifully: a brooding, dark-clad figure reclines against a stone balustrade adorned with a carved skull, framed by ornate iron gates and a single climbing rose, the whole scene drenched in a melancholy, gothic palette. Published by Glénat in 2005, this second volume looks every bit as elegantly moody as the Victorian London atmosphere its title evokes.
