Wealthy Carlotta is engaged to lawyer Stanley, but her friend Denny suggests Stanley is mostly interested in her fortune. Carlotta pretends she won’t have any family money after their marriage, and Stanley balks. They break up, just another of the boyfriends Carlotta discovered were gold-diggers. Carlotta gets a job as a store clerk incognito and falls for her supervisor, Walter. However, she discovers Walter knows her true identity and also craves her fortune. Carlotta decides she’ll marry faithful Denny instead.
