“Behind Closed Doors!”

"Behind Closed Doors!" kicks off with Jean reeling after discovering her boyfriend Harry is married, leading to a public scandal that forces her to flee town. Now a quiet librarian, she’s determined to stay away from men—especially when Jim, a kind but persistent newcomer, starts showing interest. With emotional honesty and a touch of vintage charm, this 1954 issue captures a tender, grounded moment of self-renewal, written by Bill Woolfolk and illustrated by Mort Leav, whose expressive art brings Jean’s inner world to life. The cover, by Mike Suchorsky, perfectly frames the story’s quiet tension.
