# Love Letters #51 A woman named Shirley confronts her boyfriend about pretending to be someone else, and he breaks up with her, claiming he cannot trust her in the future. Later, Shirley encounters a wealthy man named Neal Muir and accepts his invitation to dinner, hoping to make her ex-boyfriend jealous, but becomes genuinely involved with Neal. When Neal's mother disapproves of Shirley due to her modest background and suggests Neal is being presumptuous, Shirley breaks things off rather than cause family conflict. Neal later reconnects with Shirley and proposes they start their life together on their own terms in a small apartment, moving away from family expectations and learning to live independently as a couple.
