Janie and Bob fall in love, but she constantly worries that he’s thinking of past lovers, because she holds a grudge against Allen, who jilted her. Bob saves Allen and Janie from drowning after a canoe mishap, then he rejects Janie again. She vows to win back Bob's love “if it takes me till the end of time!”
