Diane goes to Pine Mountain Resort for a month, hoping to meet someone handsome and famous. She overhears someone saying that Norman Taylor, the writer, is staying there and thinks that he is someone she would like to meet. Instead, the next day she meets Jim Scott and starts spending her time with him. She finds herself falling for him, but considers him too homespun and ordinary for her.
