Love Story Picture Library #844
In "Spy Spell," a 1970 issue of Love Story Picture Library, receptionist Holly finds herself caught between two men during Venice’s carnival—Larry, a man claiming to be a policeman, and Johnny, who insists he’s an M.I.5 agent fleeing a deadly enemy. As the clock in San Marco square ticks toward three, Holly must navigate a web of secrets and shifting loyalties, unsure who to trust. Drawn with elegant detail by Enric Badía Romero, the story unfolds in lush, atmospheric panels, while the cover by Pujolar captures the intrigue with a striking, moody portrait.

Holly works as a receptionist at the student hostel on the Riva Fenice. During carnival time in Venice, an old fortune-teller tells her that she will meet the man she will marry before the clock in San Marco square strikes three. First she meets Larry, who says he is some sort of policeman. Then later that night Johnny shows up in her room, claiming he works for M.I.5 and that Larry is an enemy agent out to kill him. She agrees to help hide Johnny, but over the following days, Holly is torn over her feelings for both of them.
