Lissa convinces Vito to give himself up to the police. She wants to stay, but realizes her sick sister can't travel alone and she must accompany her. While traveling by train to the port, they read a newspaper report that Vito has been exonerated and Lissa wonders if he will forgive her for leaving. Just as her ship is about to leave for England, Vito arrives and joins her on her trip home.
