The Beyonder has turned a downtown building and all of its contents into solid gold and the government scrambles to keep this fact a secret in order to keep the world from plunging into an economic crisis. The building is being carved up and the gold dropped into a deep sea chasm to take it out of play. Spider-Man helps Agent Anderson foil a plot by the Kingpin to steal a load of the gold for himself. Peter, however, has taken a solid gold notebook he found in the trash home with him and tries to figure out what to do with it.
