About this Collection

This 2011 collection reprints the original 1984-85 Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars limited series, the landmark 12-issue crossover event that brought together a massive roster of Marvel's greatest heroes and villains on a mysterious alien world called Battleworld. Written by Jim Shooter with art by Mike Zeck and Bob Layton, this storyline introduced Spider-Man's iconic black costume and reshaped the Marvel Universe for years to come. The collection features an all-star cast including Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, the Hulk, the X-Men, and many more.

"Endings!" delivers a pulse-pounding chapter in the Secret Wars saga, as the heroes confront the arrival of a mysterious new Spider-Woman and the brutal aftermath of the Wasp’s death at the hands of the Wrecker and his allies. With Magneto uncovering Doom’s hidden presence and She-Hulk charging into Doombase alone for vengeance, the stakes rise sharply—especially as Galactus begins his slow return to devouring Battleworld. Written by Jim Shooter and brought to life with dynamic art by Mike Zeck, inks by John Beatty, and vivid colors by Christie Scheele, the issue’s intensity is matched only by Alex Ross’s striking cover.
