Marvel Tales #126
In "It Came from Nowhere," a chilling tale from Marvel Tales #126 (1954), a man’s growing dread turns into a desperate warning: the reflections in mirrors are not mere images, but malevolent entities from another dimension seeking to replace us. Written and illustrated by Sy Moskowitz, the story unfolds with eerie precision as the man’s warnings are dismissed, leading to his confinement—only for a final, horrifying twist to unfold when a spilled pitcher of water becomes a portal for the unseen. The cover by Harry Anderson captures the unsettling tension, making this a standout moment in early Marvel horror.

A man comes to the realization that the reflections that gaze out at us from mirrors are actually murderous beings from a different dimension that wish to usurp our place. He breaks all mirrors and tries to warn people but they put him in an asylum. He gives the story to a reporter who knocks over a pitcher of water as he leaves the man's cell. The evil reflection reaches out of the puddle and strangles him.
