Fired from his job Harry Dunston is approached by the Protector, whose special glasses see 24 hours into the future. His group protect people from accidents and they offer Harry a job. He later sees his former boss struggling to stay afloat in the river but turns in an incomplete report. The Protector fires him for his dishonesty but Harry plans to get the glasses back and watch his ex-boss drown. Instead a truck knocks him into the river and his former boss jumps in to save him. The Protector's agents save both men and admonish Harry for his evil scheme. Harry resolves to change his ways.
