“The Final Chapter!”

In "The Final Chapter!", a long-standing grudge reaches a boiling point when Paste-Pot Pete’s parole sparks a fight between Ben and Johnny, pushing the usually playful Pete to reinvent himself with a new costume and a daring challenge to The Thing mid-flight in the Fantasti-Car. As tensions mount and Johnny faces a sudden choice between duty and a date with Doris, the clash of pride and loyalty leads to a showdown that tests more than just strength. Written by Stan Lee and brought to life with dynamic art by Dick Ayers and P. Reinman, this 1970 classic features a cover by Marie Severin, Jack Kirby, Bill Everett, Chic Stone, and Dick Ayers.

Trying to tell Johnny that Paste-Pot Pete was paroled (for helping The Avengers), Ben and Johnny get into a brawl. Tired of being thought of as a clown, Pete completely redesigns his costume, then takes on The Thing while he's flying his part of the Fantasti-Car. As he's about to go help Ben, Johnny's told by Doris that if he leaves in the middle of their date, he needn't bother returning. After a fierce battle, Ben and Johnny triumph, and after an "explanation," Doris forgives Johnny.
