When Rankin's men ambush one of the Masked Raider's associates, the hero pursues White Star (the character's eagle) to track down the villain. The Masked Raider ultimately confronts and defeats Rankin in a dramatic encounter on horseback, preventing Rankin's scheme to halt the railroad's progress.
Trapped in Knife Canyon, the Masked Raider finds himself cornered by a stampede of wild Texas longhorns and a coordinated ambush by Miles Kenek’s gunmen, who’ve sealed off both ends of the narrow canyon. With Talon circling above, the Masked Raider must outwit his enemies and find a way to escape before the chaos traps him for good.
In a lively western frontier scene, the Masked Raider encounters Lem Barton, the unofficial boss and chuck wagon cook whose sourdough biscuits and hearty meals keep the cowhands fed during roundup season. As the crew enjoys a robust meal of steak, stew, and biscuits, they tease Lem about his cooking—only for him to deliver a humorous, exaggerated tale of a past cook whose fancy dishes left his diners dead from stomachaches.
In the high mesa, surveyor Mike Harnett confronts the defiant Hurd Rankin, whose resistance to the railroad threatens construction. As tensions rise, Harnett uncovers a deeper conspiracy when Rankin’s hired gunmen reveal they’re being paid by a rival railroad company aiming to monopolize the territory.
The Masked Raider relentlessly pursues outlaw Amos Gantry across the frontier, tracking him from waterhole to waterhole after Gantry's violent escape. Though wounded and weakened, the Masked Raider presses on, relying on his steed White Star and his loyal dog Talon to close in on the fugitive—just as Gantry, cornered and desperate, prepares to make one final stand.
