Memory Man #3 (1996) delivers a striking blend of surreal sci-fi and emotional weight, with Paul Rainey writing, drawing, inking, and designing the cover in a fully self-contained creative vision. When Stephen Gore undergoes a radical Cold Cure Programme, he unlocks buried DNA memories that awaken unexpected powers—leading to a tense escape from a lab where failed experiments spiral out of control. As chaos erupts and a mysterious figure vanishes into the shadows, Stephen returns home with a few strange keepsakes, carrying the quiet aftermath of a night that changed everything.

Stephen Gore goes to Doctor Melvin Ticulous for a Cold Cure Programme, that ends up giving him access to his DNA memory and thus super-powers. When he sees some people locked up, who are failed experiments, Memory Man frees them, but they turn out to be out of control, injuring the doctor's help, Colin. While Memory Man is setting fire on the premises, Colin is being dragged away, obviously to be eaten. The doctor ecapes. Stephen (Memory man) returns home with the doctor's comic books and Colin's "heartache-cream", which he gives to his mum.
