“The Bronx Bombshell”

In "The Bronx Bombshell," Private Archie Peddy—quiet, kind, and often overlooked—finds an unexpected bond with a stray cat during a tour in Pusan. When his unit is captured and the enemy kills the cat in front of him, Archie’s gentle nature shatters, unleashing a fierce, unstoppable resolve. The Iger Studio’s art brings this raw, emotional transformation to life in a 1957 issue where one moment of loss ignites a soldier’s hidden fire.

Private Archie Peddy has a kind disposition, something that holds him back from being a stand-out soldier. Archie befriends a stray cat while touring with his outfit in Pusan. He is sent to deliver a message to a remote unit. While away, his unit is captured, and the Communist enemy kills Archie's cat. Archie returns in time to witness this, the sight of which turns him into a fighting tiger. Archie rescues his unit.
