Mickey and Goofy stumble upon the ruins of a forgotten island civilization while exploring a tropical lagoon, uncovering a massive ruby embedded in the eye of an ancient idol. Just as they prepare to leave with their discovery, Black Pete appears, drawn by the same treasure.

Mickey and Goofy face a summer of frustration when wartime rationing and travel bans cancel their fishing trip plans—so Goofy decides to build a raft instead. With Pluto in tow, the trio sets off down a winding river, discovering one mishap after another in their quest for a simple day of fishing.
