Mister Terrific #1
This collection brings together the first six issues of the 2012 Mister Terrific series, following Michael Holt as he balances his role as a brilliant inventor and CEO with his crime-fighting duties. The story pits him against a mysterious new villain threatening his personal and professional life, while exploring his genius-level intellect and moral complexities.
In "Software Update," the third smartest man in the world, Mister Terrific, is pulled into a bizarre case when a man in Los Angeles becomes both dangerously intelligent and violently homicidal—just as Michael himself prepares to attend a high-stakes event at The Conscientia Institute. As he gives a tour to a senator, Michael experiences an unexplained shift in demeanor, hinting at something far deeper than a simple mind upgrade. Written by Eric Wallace and illustrated by Gianluca Gugliotta, with inks by Wayne Faucher, colors by Mike Atiyeh, and letters by Dave Sharpe, the issue features a striking cover by J. G. Jones.

As he grapples with a suspect whose sudden brilliance and violent turn defy explanation, Michael’s own behavior begins to unravel in ways he can’t quite understand.
In "Blinded by Science," Mr. Terrific fights to reclaim his mind while navigating the chaotic aftermath at the Conscientia Institute, aided by Karen. When he tracks his adversary to a Los Angeles mall, the confrontation takes a sudden turn as Brainstorm, exposed as powerless, triggers a shocking escalation among the crowd.

In "Cold-Hearted," Michael Holt—known as Mister Terrific—faces off against the enigmatic Tomorrow Thief, a French super-villain who targets cutting-edge technology at the unveiling of a new railway powered by one of Holt’s inventions. With precision and wit, Mister Terrific must protect both the innovation and the people gathered, all while unraveling the thief’s motive before the next move is made.
In "The Beast Within," Mister Terrific races to stop a nuclear terrorist attack, but his victory comes at a cost. Back at Holt Industries, Donald's secret work for Wyzeck takes a sudden, perilous turn—pushing him into a crisis he never saw coming.
In "The Truth Is Out There," Michael grapples with betrayal when he learns Karen Starr has stolen his corporate secrets, while Andrew Lincoln and the Blackhawks remain determined to shut down Holt Industries—despite the chaos unleashed by Donald Leeson’s transformation into the mad Digitus.
