Monte Hale battles badmen who have trapped a pioneer family in a cabin after they try to escape an attack. In the main story "Seeds of Friendship," a Gray Hawk tale by Dick Kraus, a young Otapi Indian named Gray Hawk brings corn seed to a white farmer named Tom Cooley as a gesture of peace, but his father Gray Eagle refuses to help the settlers and the Shawanga tribe launches an attack on the village, forcing Gray Hawk to help defend his new friend. The issue also features a story called "Unknown Bonanza" and includes a Gabby Hayes feature.
