# My Life #6 The featured story "My Husband Was a Gambler" tells of a woman whose husband's gambling debts and involvement with criminal associates threaten their family's safety and happiness. When her husband fails to return home after a boxing match he had wagered on, she discovers his dangerous connections to the mob and must confront the consequences of his addiction. The story concludes with her husband finally returning home, promising to change his ways and reconcile with his family. A secondary storyline follows Sally growing bolder in her criminal associations, leading a dry goods merchant named Sam Conler to discover embezzlement and attempt to recover money that was stolen from him.
