Mrs. Odetts, a longtime acquaintance of the Governor, rekindles their old connection at a formal ball, much to the delight of her friend Margie and the surprise of the crowd. As the evening unfolds, the Governor’s past antics and their shared history come to light, leaving Margie and the onlookers eager to learn his political plans.

Margie Albright panics upon realizing it’s Friday the 13th, thanks to a timely call from her father, Vern Albright, who warns her about the day’s bad luck. She nervously avoids black cats and ladders, only to accidentally double-book a date with two boys, leading to a chaotic evening when Vern arrives home and discovers the mix-up.

Margie Albright takes it upon herself to "help" her father by revising his business estimate, turning a modest figure into a rounder, more impressive number—without telling him. When her father’s boss arrives, Margie confidently presents the altered estimate, claiming it’s from her father, and accidentally secures a major contract with a surprisingly approving client.

Margie helps organize a charity bazaar, where she cleverly uses fake pearl necklaces from a dime store to spice up the oysters—only to accidentally leave the real pearls in a bowl, sparking a frantic chase when they go missing. As the guests eagerly devour the oysters, claiming they’re full of pearls, Margie’s scheme unravels when Mrs. Swank discovers the truth and demands her “precious” necklace back.

Lindy takes Margie and Chadwick on a fishing trip, but things quickly go awry when Chadwick gets tangled in the fishing line and ends up dangling in the water. Amid laughter and mishaps, the group struggles to catch fish—until Chadwick’s predicament becomes the real catch of the day.
