My Little Margie #43

Margie enrolls in Red Cross training, eager to learn first aid for atomic attack drills, but her over-the-top reactions and clumsy attempts at bandaging—especially when practicing on her boyfriend Bill—turn the exercises into a series of hilarious mishaps. As she misinterprets every instruction and exaggerates every scenario, her well-meaning efforts only lead to more chaos, leaving her training officer wondering if she’s a secret weapon or just hopelessly unprepared.

Margie sets out on a date with Johnny Flack, a self-proclaimed racing car driver she met by chance, only to find his "hot rod" is more trouble than it's worth—especially when he ignores her pleas to slow down and refuses to stop the car during a downpour. As the evening spirals into chaos, Margie begins to question both his driving and his suitability as a date, all while trying to keep her new dress and composure intact.

Hubert Fitz-Cardiac, a wealthy young man with no experience or desire to work, agrees to take a job to earn money for a dance with Margie—only to quickly discover that labor is far more exhausting than he imagined. As he struggles through blisters and exhaustion, Margie watches with growing concern, unsure whether his effort will pay off before he gives up.

The story follows Theodore Roosevelt from his childhood as a frail boy determined to build his strength, to his later role leading the Rough Riders in the Spanish-American War. It highlights his transformation from a sickly youth into a vigorous leader, emphasizing his resilience and adventurous spirit.
