This anthology issue contains two romantic stories. In "Hard-Hearted Hannah," a woman named Hannah operates a discount supermarket and attempts to forget a man she loved by focusing on her business, but when the supermarket fails and she loses everything, she is forced to confront her feelings and realizes that love matters more than business success. "Love Beats the Band" follows Roxanne, an accomplished violinist devoted to her musical career who scorns brass instruments and their players, until she falls in love with Roy, a tuba player in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and must choose between her prejudices and her heart when they are caught in a flood together. "Don't Be Too Mechanical!" tells the story of Linda Stevens, a girl who is an expert at technical things, until a handsome man begins to show interest in her and disrupts her orderly life with his attention.
