Hep asks his failing troupe of traveling actors to earn money by performing at a county fair. The actresses become dancers, but one “good-looking rube” reproves the audience for watching “a low, degrading sideshow!” To prove to Hep that she deserves the lead in their next play, Evie bets she can make the heckler, Joe, fall in love with her. It works, except Evie also really falls for Joe. Joe’s unaware that Evie’s the lead exotic dancer because she wears a wig during act, but her rival Kitty exposes her. Joe rejects Evie but his prize pig takes a liking to her so he changes his mind.
