“Karma, Part 1 of 6”

In "Karma, Part 1 of 6," the city of Appalacia is obliterated by a catastrophic explosion, sending Janus of the Global Defense Administration to investigate. There, he encounters O’Ryn, an alien who never intended harm but now faces the unstoppable growth of an alien forest—born from the blast and destined to become a new world for his kind. Written by Jay Jacobs and illustrated by Chris A. Tsuda, with a striking cover by Al Rio, this first issue of Myriad sets a haunting tone for a story where unintended consequences ripple across worlds.

Appalacia City is destroyed by a huge explosion. Janus is sent by the Global Defense Administration to investigate and finds O’Ryn, an alien responsible for the destruction. Horrified, O’Ryn didn’t know the area was inhabited, but is unable to stop the encroaching alien forest that was created by the explosion (like a genesis bomb), which is to become a new home for his people.
