A down on his out sculpturer named Leonard Caine finds a way to create life-like stone sculptures in Haiti. He encounters a witch doctor who has a water like elixir that hardens bodies into stone. After murdering the witch doctor and stealing the elixir, he heads back to the U.S.A. He becomes a sensation again. He has to steal corpses and commit murder for his "sculptures". One night after passing out, he is revived thanks to some water given to him by his ignorant girlfriend. She had gotten the water from the elixir bottle in his studio!
