Mystery Tales #23
In "Shrinko!", a desperate hunter clings to a floating crate of deadly Mambas after his African steamer goes down in a storm, his only hope a distant figure atop a piece of wreckage. As he struggles toward safety, he’s hauled aboard by a terrifyingly familiar presence—his longtime victim, a gorilla he once tormented with his whip, now face-to-face in a moment of shocking reversal. Bill Savage’s art and Jack Abel’s inks bring this eerie survival tale to life, while Joe Maneely and Carl Burgos deliver the striking cover.

A hunter's African steamer is wrecked by a sudden storm and he can't swim. He floats on a crate of Mambas until he sees part of the steamer is still afloat with a figure atop it. He makes for it, since the crate with the deadly snakes is breaking apart, and asks the figure to pull him up. He is roughly seized and stares into the face of the gorilla he was in the habit of regularly tormenting with his whip.
