Gudred Olgersonn, un ricco imprenditore delle terre nordiche, ingaggia Nathan, Legs e Jack O'Ryan, insieme a un agente locale, Thorwald, perché proteggano la sua annuale caccia alla balena. Infatti, un gruppo di ecologisti, impossessatosi di un sommergibile schermato in maniera tale da risultare invisibile, ha intenzione di sabotare la battuta di caccia. A bordo del sommergibile ecologista si trova Miriam, una esper che entra in contatto telepatico con la grande balena mutante Testarossa.
