Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics #[nn]
In "Triumph Over Tragedy," Geoff Johns and Richard Donner deliver a gripping flashback that redefines the roots of Krypton’s fall, exploring the moment when Non—once Jor-El’s mentor—first warned of the planet’s doom. As Zod, Non, and Ursa face their fate in the Phantom Zone, the story unfolds through a tense, tragic chain of loyalty, betrayal, and desperation, with Rags Morales’ dynamic art and Mark Farmer’s sharp inks bringing the political and personal stakes to life. Kevin Nowlan’s cover captures the weight of that final moment, a haunting silhouette against the void.
