New Excalibur #9
In "Chamber," Pete Wisdom arrives at a hospital to find Jo (Chamber) barely alive after M-Day, offering him a chance with Excalibur—only for the young mutant to be taken by Clan Akkaba. There, his body is rebuilt using Apocalypse’s blood, transforming his appearance in ways that unsettle even him. As Excalibur arrives to rescue him, Chamber refuses both the Clan and the team, standing at a crossroads of identity and allegiance. Written by Frank Tieri and illustrated by Scott Kolins, with colors by Wil Quintana and letters by Tom Orzechowski, the cover by Michael Ryan captures the moment’s tension.

Pete Wisdom arrives at the hospital where Chamber is being kept alive after he lost his powers on M-Day. He offers to bring Jono into the Excalibur fold but Chamber is whisked away by Clan Akkaba where his body is repaired by the blood of Apocalypse. An interesting side effect of this process is that he takes on the appearance of Apocalypse. Chamber rejects the Clan and then rejects Excalibur when they show up to mount a rescue.
