New Heroic Comics #97 is an anthology featuring stories of heroic men and women performing daring actions in hazardous situations. One story depicts a courageous druggist who returns to a pharmacy during a robbery to help apprehend the thieves despite the danger. Another story features a Scout leader named Larry who performs artificial respiration on boys overcome by gas fumes from a new gas line in a bathroom, successfully reviving them before the ambulance arrives. A third story, "Disaster Forestalled," tells of truck driver Eugene Perry who, while a passenger on a bus bound for the St. George Ferry Terminal in New York, takes control when the bus driver suddenly faints at the wheel, preventing a potential catastrophe.
