Nightstalkers #15
In "Bad Blood Siege of Darkness Part 9," the Nightstalkers face their most dangerous trial yet as the threat shifts from the Lilin to the far more sinister Zarathos and The Fallen. With Dr. Strange warning them of the greater danger ahead, the team splits when exhaustion and frustration push them to abandon their mission—only for Zarathos to strike with brutal precision. As the battle erupts beneath the earth, Frank Drake makes a desperate move to stop the enemy, and the Nightstalkers must regroup in the chaos. Written by Steve Grant and illustrated by Andrew Wildman, with inks by Frank Turner and colors by John Kalisz, this pivotal issue sees the team pushed to their limits. The cover by Andrew Wildman and Frank Turner captures the intensity of the underground conflict in stark, dramatic detail.

The Nightstalkers think they've won when the Lilin are pulled back into their own dimension, but Dr. Strange tells them that Zarathos and The Fallen are an even bigger threat. The Nightstalkers are tired of cleaning up after The Nine's screw-ups and leave, which allows Zarathos to beat John Blaze, Ghost Rider, Vengeance and Dr. Strange. He then takes Caretaker underground and the Nightstalkers go after him. In a pitched battle, Frank Drake overloads "Linda" and blows up one of the underground caverns with him in it. Hannibal King goes to get the others for help and Blade goes back after Frank.
