Notre Dame #1

This first volume of the Notre Dame series, published by Glénat in 2012, reimagines Victor Hugo's classic novel in a steampunk-inspired alternate 19th century. The story follows Quasimodo, Esmeralda, and other familiar characters as they navigate a Paris filled with clockwork inventions and airships, with the cathedral itself serving as a central, mechanized stronghold. The volume collects the opening chapters of this dark, atmospheric retelling by writer Jean-Pierre Pécau and artist Igor Kordey.
