The second volume of Boisserie and Chabbert's Nova Genesis takes the series to the Grand Canyon, and the cover wastes no time setting an unsettling tone — a pale, vulnerable figure is ensnared by dark mechanical tentacles that coil menacingly across a cool blue backdrop. The contrast between the organic and the technological feels genuinely eerie, and Chabbert's clean linework gives the image a striking, almost clinical tension. If this 2004 Glénat release is any indication, Nova Genesis is science fiction with a sharp visual edge.
