Carali's Odeur de brûlé returns with its second volume from Éditions Psikopat, and the cover sets the tone perfectly: a bemused figure hunches over an overflowing trunk stuffed with colorful odds and ends, muttering "Mais où a-t-il faire une chose pareille??" while a cobweb dangles in the corner — a snapshot of cheerful, cluttered absurdity. The understated kraft-paper design frames this little inset cartoon with just the right deadpan wit. If the first tome won you over, Tome 2 promises more of Carali's warmly offbeat humor in 2018.
